Swing will resume Wednesday this week at the Anthill Pub. Not too many people
have been showing up lately, just the regulars, so if you want small private
lessons, now is the time to go. As usual, we will have lessons for about the
first hour, dancing for the second. 7-9pm Wednesday.

Because ASUCI is having a Cinco de Mayo celebration this Wednesday at the
Anthill Pub and Grill, swing lessons and dancing this week will be Tuesday
from 7-9pm, same location. Last week only friends showed up and we had a nice
little birthday bash. Please come out and have some fun, even though I know
mid-terms are coming up (I have them too).
So remember, Tuesday Night, not Wednesday, this week at the Pub.

Hi everyone!
We will be having a swing lesson/ dancing this Wednesday, April 21st from
7-9pm at the Pub. New comers, please be on time. The lesson will start
promptly at 7pm.
Thanks for all of you who participated at Wayzgoose. I really appreciate the
efforts of those who took the time to come to the Wayzgoose planning and
practice meetings. And a big thanks to Vicky for organizing it.

Subject: Twin Palms...FREE swing!!!
I know that we've had poor turn outs at our last few free nights at Twin
Palms, but I'm still hopeful that you guys still like swing and, like all
good college students, you like free stuff. So we're going to try it again!
This Sunday, April 11th, UCI students can get in free at Twin Palms in
Newport. You must show student ID at the door. Non-UCI students are
welcome to come and regular admission is $10. Some of you may have the Twin Palms
flyers that we hand out at the Pub and non-uci students can get in for half
price with those. The band playing is George Gee and his Big Band and they'll
start around 7:30. If you'd like to go for lessons, they start at 6:45. I
hope to see you all there!
Also...more free swing and right here at UCI!!
Next Thursday night (April 15th) there will be a free swing dance at C.V.
(Campus Village) basketball court from 9-11pm. There will be dance lessons
(with Shanna and Barry) from 8-9 and DJ Barry will be spinning your favorite
swing tunes from 9-11pm.
Remember, there will be no swing lessons at the pub during second week.

Subject: Welcome back, now let's SWING!!
Tonight, Monday April 5th from 7pm-9pm, there will be lessons and dancing at
the Anthill Pub.
There will be no swing week 2. The next lesson and dancing will be Week 3 on
Wednesday the 21st. From then on until the end of the quarter, there will be
swing every Wednesday Night at the Anthill Pub from 7pm-9pm. Tell all your
friends and bring some ca$h for donations. Hope you come on down and have
fun.
There will be plenty of swing events, free for UCI students over the course
of the quarter, so make sure to check your email often for updates!
If you've asked to be taken off this list before, I apologize for this email,
but my computer has been acting up and I had to use an old list. You will no
longer receive any more updates.

Subject: questions about this Friday
Some of you emailed me with about this Friday's Swing Party at the Bren. I
figured some might have the same questions, so let me just tell you all at
once.
The event is open to everyone in the community, not just UCI students.
Tickets for UCI students are $9 with id. $10 for general admission.
There will be dance lessons sometimes between 8pm and 9pm. At 9pm, the band
starts its first set.

Subject: Next Quarter's Swing schedule
It was brought to my attention that my last email concerning next quarter's
Swing at the Pub was a little unclear. So let me give it another try...
--Swing @ the Pub was to be moved to Wednesday 7-9pm nights for Spring
Quarter. However, the pub was booked during weeks one and two for
Wednesdays.
So for week one, the meeting will be on Monday, April 5th, 7-9pm @ the Pub.
Week two there will be no meeting.
Beginning week three, meetings will be @ the Pub on Wednesday nights, 7-9pm,
until the end of the quarter.
There will be no Swing meeting tenth week.
I will continue to send out weekly reminders next quarter, but this is just
info for those of you who like to plan ahead. If you any questions concerning
the schedule or what not, please email me.

UCI Student I.D. Please come...the more people we bring the more free swing

Also, this Thursday night you can get in for $2 at Memories in Anaheim. Voted

Subject: Swing at the Pub
Hello everyone!
Remember there is Swing lessons and dancing tonight (Feb. 9) at the Pub from
7-9pm. Don't be late for the lessons or you'll miss out. We'll be going over
lindy turns and advanced Charleston. Beginners are welcomed as always.
Also, I need your feedback. Next quarter we want to give you the opportunity
to go to both swing and salsa at the pub. Salsa will be returning on Tuesday
night. So would you like to continue having swing at the Pub and move our
lessons to Wednesday or Monday night? Or would you rather keep Swing on
Tuesday nights and hold our lessons in the ICF trailers? Please email and tell
me what you think.
We only had about 17 people show up to Twin Palms on Sunday Feb, 7th for
our half price admission. We needed at least 40 to show up so we could get in free
on Feb 21st. I realize that we have midterms so a lot of people couldn't make
it. At any rate, we may still be able to get on free or at half price on the
21st. I'll keep you posted.

Subject: Twin Palms discount
Here's our new deal with Twin Palms' Club Zoot Suit. UCI students get in at
half price with student ID (that's $5). If we are able to bring in 50 people
or more in one night, then the following week its free for UCI students.
Here's Twin Palms schedule for the next two months:
Begining dance lessons @6:15-6:45pm. Free intermediate lessons @6:45-7:15.
Band starts @7:30pm.
630 Newport center Dr.
So, if we bring in 50+ people at half price this Sunday, we get
in free on Feb 21st. etc
Also, there's gonna be a lot of bands playing at Twin Palms that don't usually
frequent the OC swing scene. Not the same ole music!!!

Hey Everyone!
We have free passes to Swing at Twin Palms' Club Zoot Suit on January 17th.

There will be Swing lessons and dancing this Tuesday, January 12th, at the
Anthill Pub from 7-9pm. Lessons will start promptly at 7pm and end at
8pm...so be on time!! We will be reviewing the basics as well as teaching
some new stuff. For those of you who'd like to dance and not attend the
lessons, from 8-9pm we will just be playing music. Hope to see all you
regulars and some newcomers too.
All UCI Students can get in free at Twin Palms on the 17th with student ID.
If you would like to invite non-UCI students, please see me at the Pub
tomorrow night for free passes. The amazing "Bill Elliot Swing Orchestra"
will be playing and New Line Cinema will be there sponsoring a dance
contest...so no doubt O.C.'s best swing dancers will be there struttin' their
stuff. It'l be a lot of fun. Plus, if we get more than 50 UCI students to
attend, we will get another free Swing night later this month.

Subject: Welcome back swingers...Meetings start this week!
I hope all of you had a nice holiday break. Our swing dancing continues all
winter quarter long every Tuesday Night from 7-9pm at the Anthill Pub starting
this Tuesday January 5th. The dancing will start with a 45min-1 hour lesson
followed by music and dancing afterwards. All lessons are free and will range
from the beginners to intermediate range. We will do both east coast swing and
lindy hop, as well as some beginners Charleston. If you know how to dance,
just show up later for dancing, and if you are a beginner, be punctual because
we will start at 7pm sharp with or without you. Lessons and dancing are 100%
free and so is ice water!! The Anthill Pub is located upstairs at the UCI
student center and has a lot of good food and booz, please show up this
Tuesday, starting this week!
We will also have new information about local swing events for you, so don't
Shanna and Barry
miss out. See you on the dance floor.
